NEWLY LISTED PROGRAMS Department of Transportation: Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) Who May Apply: Municipality, council of governments, business/non-profit, economic development organization, public transportation agency, port or rail/freight entity Use: The MTF provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation exists in Pennsylvania. The program is intended to provide financial assistance in order to improve public transportation assets that enhance communities, pedestrian safety, and transit revitalization. NEWLY LISTED PROGRAMS Commonwealth Financing Authority: Local Share Account Statewide Who May Apply: Counties, municipalities, municipal authorities, economic development agencies, redevelopment authorities, land banks, or councils of government. Non-profits may partner with an eligible applicant to apply on their behalf. Use: Projects in the public interest. Projects that improve the quality of life of citizens in the community. Eligible projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a nonprofit organization. Funds: The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest. Grant requests must be at a minimum $25,000 and no more than $1,000,000. Krueger announces $1.8 million in state funds for local improvement projects

BROOKHAVEN, Sept. 15 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, today announced $1.8 million in state funds awarded to projects throughout her district that will improve ADA access, upgrade water and sewer infrastructure and help maintain township buildings. The grants awarded include: $650,000 to Middletown Township Sewer Authority to construct a new pump station, force main and sewer upgrades. $646,067 to Brookhaven Borough for accessibility improvements to Memorial, Samson and Our Lady of Charity parks, including ADA compliant parking, accessible paths and signage. $267,690 to Middletown Township to replace windows and repoint masonry on the east wing of the Roosevelt Community Center. $150,000 to Chester Water Authority to modernize water systems in Aston Township and Brookhaven Borough. $100,000 to Chester Township to upgrade The Wilson Center and improve accessibility throughout the municipal complex. “LSA funds offer local projects financial support to ensure infrastructure is maintained and modernized as needed, and to ensure all residents have access to the public services and areas their communities offer,” said Krueger. “I am pleased to see so many projects improving ADA access selected in this round of grant awards – these upgrades will give more people better access to our parks and community buildings.
