Brian's Briefing for June 6: Passing bills to benefit you, community updates, and watch out for these scam texts

This month I’ll be in Harrisburg weekly while we work to pass the 2025-2026 PA budget. Keep an eye out for these emails to get a recap of everything we do for you at the Capitol in June.

This week, the House passed important bills to help our neighbors and improve our communities. These bills now go to the Senate for consideration:

  • HB 1500 supports education and families, by requiring greater transparency and accountability from cyber charter schools and getting money back to the taxpayers and school districts.
  • HB 1072 supports seniors and individuals with disabilities who qualify for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program by allowing rebate payments to be issued as soon as an application is approved by the Department of Revenue, instead of making recipients wait for July 1 or later.

Thanks to all who came to our License Plate Restoration event!

Last weekend we hosted a free license plate restoration event with PennDOT and the Warminster Department of Police. It was a great success! Thank you to everyone who pre-registered and took advantage of this service, and to the Warminster police for checking each plate for eligibility. I look forward to offering this event again in the future!

Recognizing Teachers for Teacher Appreciation Month

May was Teacher Appreciation Month, and many of you took the time to nominate teachers in recognition of their impact on the children of our communities. On Friday, my office hosted 22 nominated teachers to thank them for their work as educators and mentors. Honoring Blue Star Mothers

The Blue Star Mothers are a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that supports active service members and their families. I had the honor to present a House citation to representatives of our local Blue Star Mothers for their dedicated support and patriotism.

PA 250

A behind the scenes look at one of my upcoming projects -- PA 250. To celebrate our district's storied history, and to recognize the 250th anniversary of our great nation, starting on July 4, 2025, our office will be posting videos recognizing important places and people from Warminster, Ivyland, Warrington, and New Britain. Each month leading up to July 4, 2026, we will be posting a new video, so keep an eye out!

Our first video, which will be posted next month, features the John Fitch Steamboat Museum -- a hidden gem right here in Warminster that celebrates a man known for his ingenious inventions and his unstoppable grit. I'd like to thank the owner and curator of the museum, Mike Maguire, for allowing me to tour the location and say a few words about one of Warminster's most famous residents.

Remote Office Hours
