Brian's Briefing for May 16: FREE license plate restoration! Plus, new ways to report scams and House legislation to plan for retirement in PA

Dear Neighbors,

Has your license plate seen better days? No plate is meant to last forever, and if yours is faded, peeling, rusted, or unreadable, it’s time to replace it.

My team and I are partnering with the Warminster Township Police Department to host a FREE License Plate Restoration event on Saturday, May 31. We’ll be at Warminster Community Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., where officers will check your plate to see if it qualifies for replacement, and if it does, we’ll help you get it restored. Please register ahead of time here.

I look forward to seeing you on May 31! As always, if you have any questions or concerns about state government, feel free to reply to this email or call my office at (215) 323-6997. My team and I are here to help.

Welcoming Our Interns to the House Chamber

I was back in Harrisburg this week, and one highlight of this session was welcoming my district office intern Max Jin to visit the House chamber. Max joined my staff through the Central Bucks High School South Community Internship Program, which balances classroom instruction with real-world experiences. He visited with Madelyn Engstrom, an intern for my fellow Bucks County representative, Tim Brennan. They were joined by the program’s administrator and longtime English teacher William Melvin. We hope you had a great visit! Your futures are bright!

Tuesday is Primary Election Day!

Don’t forget – this Tuesday is Primary Election Day! Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Our office will be closed in observance. If you’re not sure where to vote, use this resource to find your polling place: Polling Places | Bucks County, PA.

New Consumer Protection Hotline

Gov. Josh Shapiro recently launched new tools designed to make it easier for consumers to report scams and get help resolving financial or insurance issues. You can call the new hotline at 1-866-PACOMPLAINT (1-866-722-6675), visit pa.gov/consumer, or email consumer@pa.gov for assistance. It can be confusing to know who to call when you face a denied insurance claim, a scamming issue, a financial transaction concern. The new system connects you to the right state agency to help resolve the problem.

House Passes Retirement Program for All Pennsylvanians

Did you know that more than two million working Pennsylvanians don’t have any access to a retirement plan? This week, I voted with my House colleagues in support of the Keystone Saves Retirement Program, which gives workers the power they need and deserve to control their own future. We’re encouraging stable, long-term investments to prevent any seniors from having to be forced back to work.

Supporting Troop 139 and 172

This past weekend we had great weather in Warminster, and I got out to enjoy it with two of our local scout troops. Troop 139 hosted a successful carwash to support their camping trips, and Troop 172 met with the Bike and Hike Committee for their annual Learn to Fish day. I love to see our young people learning about and enjoying the great outdoors.
