Supporting survivors of sexual violence
|
I’m pleased to share that earlier this week, with the support of the Shapiro Administration and a bipartisan group of legislators and advocates, we announced a $2.5 million federal award from the U.S. Department of Justice. This funding will allow the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to implement a statewide sexual assault kit tracking system, a vital step in ensuring justice and support for survivors of sexual violence.
As a retired police officer, I’ve seen the challenges survivors face, and I’ve worked tirelessly to help bridge the gaps in our system. The tracking system made possible by this award will improve transparency, increase accountability, and most importantly, give survivors the assurance that their cases are being handled with care and respect. I’m particularly proud to have sponsored the House version of the bill that laid the groundwork for this significant advancement.
This bipartisan effort marks a significant victory for survivors across Pennsylvania, and I’m honored to have played a role in making it happen. We are committed to ensuring that no victim of sexual violence is left behind.

To participate, all students and contributors (e.g., parents or spouses) must create a StudentAid.gov Account (FSA ID) at least four days prior to the event. You can do this at StudentAid.gov/fsa-id/create-account. Be sure to review this link for a list of the information you'll need to gather.
