BROOKHAVEN, Aug. 20 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, is inviting senior residents of her legislative district to a free Medicare seminar at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Ridley Township Library, 100 MacDade Blvd., Folsom. Krueger said a trained PA Medi counselor will be there to answer questions and discuss Medicare enrollment timing, supplemental plans, copays, deductibles and how to avoid penalties. “Whether you’re just turning 65 and becoming eligible for Medicare or you’ve had Medicare for some time, it’s important to fully understand how it works and keep track of important dates,” Krueger said. “I encourage all our senior residents to attend this seminar to learn about coverage and stay on track.” Registration for this free event is required . BROOKHAVEN, Aug. 18 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger and state Sen. Tim Kearney are inviting residents to a free clinic on the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. The clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at the Ridley Township Public Library, 100 E. MacDade Blvd., Folsom. Registration is required to obtain a time slot for application assistance by calling Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880 or by emailing RepKrueger@pahouse.net . “My office helps hundreds of people apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate each year, and I encourage all eligible residents to apply if they have not done so already,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “I’m glad to be able to hold this event and hopefully make the process easier for residents. Plus, eligible property owners living in Ridley Township qualify for an extra rebate.” The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older and people with disabilities 18 or older. The income limit is $46,520 a year for homeowners and renters , and half of applicants’ Social Security and/or Railroad Retirement income is excluded. Spouses, personal representatives or estates may also file rebate claims on behalf of claimants who lived at least one day in 2024 and meet all other eligibility criteria.
