Borowski announces $117.5K in state funding for local Fire & EMS companies

State Rep. Lisa Borowski, D-Delaware, announced today the Office of the State Fire Commissioner awarded about $117,557 to help equip firefighters and EMS providers with the resources to respond to emergencies in Delaware County. Borowski also shared she has joined the reconstituted and bipartisan Pennsylvania House Firefighters & Emergency Services Caucus as its co-chair. Read more

Delaware County Officials and Community Members Rally to Deliver Over 10,000 Diapers to Local Families in Need

The drive collected various brands and sizes of diapers, baby wipes, and formula. In total, over 10,000 diapers, 50 packages of baby wipes, and dozens of cans of formula were collected. These will be donated to The Foundation of Delaware County to benefit local parenting families in need who receive services through Healthy Start, Nurse-Family Partnership, Maternity Care Coalition, or WIC. Lawmakers’ collection brings in donations of 10,000 baby items

Annually, the monthlong collection period begins in the middle of November and lasts until the week before Christmas. The collected items are rounded up on the last day and participating offices and businesses help deliver the items to the Upper Darby WIC office where the Foundation for Delaware County will work to distribute the items along their network. Josh Shapiro last week signed H.B. 1131 into law as Act 50 of 2023, a measure that allows for more efficient spending on public health by authorizing the removal of duplicative public health centers.
