The drive collected various brands and sizes of diapers, baby wipes, and formula. In total, over 10,000 diapers, 50 packages of baby wipes, and dozens of cans of formula were collected. These will be donated to The Foundation of Delaware County to benefit local parenting families in need who receive services through Healthy Start, Nurse-Family Partnership, Maternity Care Coalition, or WIC. Josh Shapiro last week signed H.B. 1131 into law as Act 50 of 2023, a measure that allows for more efficient spending on public health by authorizing the removal of duplicative public health centers. “Leaving an abusive relationship is often the most dangerous time for a victim of domestic violence,” state Rep. Lisa Borowski, D-168, said in a co-sponsorship memorandum for the bill. “Individuals leaving a violent relationship must consider where they will go, how to care for children, and if the abuser will further retaliate against them.
