IT’S TIME TO TREAT CYBER CHARTER SCHOOLS LIKE THE TAXPAYER-FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOLS THEY ARE

Cyber charters are public schools paid for with your taxpayer dollars, and it’s time cyber charters start playing by the same rules traditional public schools play by.

The Cyber Charter Reform Act delivers – returning more than a half billion dollars to taxpayers, setting limits on the amount of taxpayer dollars charters can hoard, preventing cybers from offering gifts and vacations to parents to enroll their kids, and putting low-performing schools on notice.

Now, it’s up to the Senate to act – fill out the form below to email your senator and senate leaders and DEMAND ACTION.

Your message will be sent to:

Email Body:

Please pass the Cyber Charter Reform Act to protect my tax dollars and deliver fairness and transparency to taxpayers, parents, and students in Pennsylvania.

The Cyber Charter Reform Act (House Bill 1500) makes sure the tax money spent on cyber charters is spent to educate our kids and makes sure the people paying the bills – like me -- have a say about how cybers do business. House Bill 1500 also sets reasonable tuition limits so parents choosing to take their kids out of public schools still get help, but any overcharging is returned to the school district and taxpayer, and the bill also sets performance standards so those kids aren’t left behind.

When only about six out of ten cyber students are graduating compared to nine out of ten in traditional public schools, we can’t wait any longer.

It's time to bring the Cyber Charter Reform Act up for a vote and pass this bill into law.

Sincerely,
