Attention any and all Pennsylvanians who are receiving benefits through federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation, or Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation: The final week of eligibility for payments under these programs is the week ending Sept. 4. A breakdown of these programs can be found here . The state's regular Unemployment Compensation program is not affected. After the federal programs end Sept. 4, 2021, L&I will continue to process eligible claim weeks that end Sept. 4, 2021, or earlier that have been filed but have not yet been paid. Individuals who have filed claims under these programs will also still be able to log into their accounts to view historic data, important documents, and other information. Claims for weeks ending after Sept. 4, 2021, filed under these programs will not be eligible for payment. For more than 16 months, Chester County has been serving as the public health lead for Delaware County on the COVID-19 pandemic, and last week, it was announced that the agreement between the two counties will come to an end on Aug. 1. This is good news for Delco because it means we’ve made real progress in creating our own Delaware County Health Department for the first time in history. Read more
HARRISBURG, July 7 – In an effort to improve infrastructure, including alleviating traffic congestion, state lawmakers announced Ridley Township has been approved for a pair of grants through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “ Green Light-Go ” program. “The ‘Green Light-Go’ program rewards municipalities for identifying areas where traffic flow and safety can be improved,” said Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware. “Ridley Township should be applauded for taking the proactive steps needed to receive reimbursement for work that will better our communities.” Ridley Township has been approved for a pair of projects, including: $65,532 for upgraded detection at the Stewart Avenue & I-95 interchange. $417,576 for upgraded detection and pedestrian signals at several intersections ( Morton Avenue and 9th Avenue; Fairview Road and Parklane Road; Fairview Road and Jefferson Avenue). “Ridley Township addressed an issue that continues to pop up in cities and municipalities across our state,” said Rep. Today the PA Department of Health reported that PA now ranks 9th among 50 states for first dose vaccinations.
