Delloso, community partners host free food giveaway on Thursdays

RIDLEY PARK, Feb. 3 – State Rep. Dave Delloso, D-Delaware, has partnered with the borough of Folcroft and Caring for Friends to co-host weekly drive-through food giveaway events for people and families in need of food during this difficult time.
The weekly events are scheduled for the next eight weeks and will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday starting on Feb. 4 at the Folcroft Borough Building, 1555 N. Elmwood Ave., Folcroft.
Residents can receive free USDA fresh-food boxes on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“We are experiencing a trying time in our community, unlike any time I have ever witnessed before,” Delloso said. “People need help, and they need it now. Fortunately, I have been able to work with community partners to organize food giveaway events that will provide relief for people out of work, between jobs or struggling to make ends meet during this pandemic.”
Residents are asked to stay in their cars and wear a mask; volunteers will load the boxes into vehicles. Organizers at the event will also be available to provide information on important state services designed to help people affected by the pandemic and economic downturn.
