I’m excited to share some fantastic news: our community is set to receive significant state investments! Recently, over $2.1 million in grant funding was awarded to support critical infrastructure, public safety, and community service projects throughout the 151st District.
|
Securing these funds has been a top priority for me because these projects are a direct investment in our safety, our health, and in supporting neighbors who need it most. Here’s a breakdown of the projects receiving support:
- Public Safety in Horsham:?$116,823?for the?Horsham Township Police Department?to purchase new electronic control devices, ensuring our officers have the modern tools they need to keep our community safe.
- Clean Water Infrastructure:?$300,000?for the?Horsham Water & Sewer Authority?to replace a critical section of the water main in the Well 20 Area, ensuring reliable service for residents.
- Fire Safety in Ambler:?$250,000?for the?Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority?to install a new fire suppression system at the?Family Promise Montco?facility, protecting those seeking shelter and support.
- Supporting Families in Need:?$859,047?for the?Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority?to renovate the?Mitzvah Circle?building, allowing this incredible organization to expand its mission of providing essential items to struggling families.
- Wastewater Improvements:?$300,000?for the?Montgomery Township Municipal Sewer Authority?to re-insulate Tank B at the Eureka Wastewater Treatment Plant, improving efficiency and local infrastructure.
- Outdoor Connectivity:?$350,000?for the?Upper Dublin Township Municipal Authority?to construct the Dreshertown Road Cross County Trail extension, enhancing our local trail network for walkers and cyclists.
I am incredibly proud to support these initiatives. From improving the quality of our drinking water and enhancing the trails we enjoy, to strengthening the emergency services we rely on, these grants help make the 151st District a safer, healthier, and more vibrant place to live.

Words of Congratulations as well as a bit of Advice!
|
I was truly honored to join the Horsham community as our newest Council members—Dr. Ruth Patterson, John McCarty, and Elizabeth Thomson—were officially sworn in. It was a meaningful moment to witness, and I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of them, as well as to all the newly sworn-in local elected officials across the 151st District, as they begin this important chapter of service.
|
Stepping into public leadership is a moment filled with pride, purpose, and possibility—one that stays with you. I still remember the mix of excitement and responsibility I felt at my own swearing-in, and I hope each of you allows yourselves to experience both the weight and the joy of this milestone. The work can be challenging, but it is also deeply rewarding. As you embark on this journey, I’d like to share a few pieces of advice that have guided me and many others who have served before us:
- Listen deeply and often. The most powerful insights come from the people who stop you in the grocery store, send and email, or share a concern at a meeting. Their stories will shape your work in ways you may not have imagined.
- Build strong relationships. The bond you build with colleagues, staff, and community partners will carry you through the tough days and make the good days even better.
- Lead with openness. Transparency is not just a practice; it is a promise. Clear communication builds trust, especially when decisions are complex or emotions run high.
- Give yourself grace to grow. None of us begins this work knowing everything. Asking questions, seeking guidance, and learning as you go are not signs of weakness. It is how strong leaders are made.
- Keep the long view in mind. The daily work matters, but so does the vision you help shape for the next generation. Some of your most meaningful accomplishments will be the ones that take time to bloom.
|
I’m genuinely excited to see the energy, expertise, and perspectives each of you will bring to our communities. Congratulations again, and thank you for your commitment to serving Ambler Borough, as well as Horsham, Upper Dublin, and Montgomery Townships. Welcome to this incredible journey!
|
Thank you for your continued engagement, generosity, and partnership. I am honored to represent you, and I look forward to all we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
