This role can definitely be busy, unpredictable, and occasionally feel like I’m juggling a dozen things at once, but I would not trade it for anything.
At the center of all of it is something very simple: helping people.
Whether that means connecting someone with the resources they need, bringing information directly into our community, supporting organizations doing incredible work for our neighbors, or simply making government feel a little easier to navigate, that is what my team and I are here to do.
And we have certainly been doing plenty of that lately!

NAVIGATING STATE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT FEEL LIKE JURASSIC PARK
|
Sometimes navigating state government can feel a little intimidating.
You know you need to get somewhere. You know there has to be a way through. But then come the forms, phone calls, different departments, different agencies, deadlines, requirements, and, of course, the occasional government red tape.
Before you know it, it can feel like you are trying to find your way through an entirely different world.
Maybe even one with a few dinosaurs.
|
That is exactly why my district office is here.
You should never feel like you have to figure everything out on your own.
My staff and I spend every day helping constituents work through questions and problems involving Pennsylvania state government. That can include PennDOT and vehicle services, unemployment compensation, professional and state licensing, Property Tax/Rent Rebate questions, birth and death certificates, state programs, state agencies, and so much more.
Sometimes we can help resolve an issue directly. Sometimes we can help figure out which agency or department you actually need. And sometimes the most valuable thing we can do is make sure you finally get connected with the right person after feeling like you have been bounced around from place to place.
Government should work for the people it serves, and my office takes that responsibility seriously.
We cannot promise that we can solve every problem, or make every dinosaur disappear, but we can promise that we will listen, try to help, and do everything within our ability to point you in the right direction.
So please remember this: when you are not sure where to turn, start with us.
That is what we are here for.

ROLLING UP OUR SLEEVES AT MITZVAH CIRCLE ??
|
One of my favorite parts of this job is getting outside the office and spending time with the organizations that quietly do incredible things for families every single day.
Mitzvah Circle is one of those organizations.
I am constantly impressed by the amount of care, compassion, and dignity they bring to the people they serve.
The work they do is about so much more than simply handing someone a bag of supplies. It is about making sure children have clothing that fits. Making sure families have basic necessities. Making sure someone going through a difficult period knows that their community sees them, cares about them, and is willing to step forward to help.
Whenever I have the chance to visit, I love jumping in alongside the volunteers.
Fill some bags. Move some boxes. Sort some donations. Lend a few hands wherever they are needed.
There is something incredibly special about standing in a room full of people who may come from completely different backgrounds but are united by one simple goal: making life a little easier for someone else.
|
Every item sorted matters.
Every box packed matters.
Every bag prepared is eventually going home with a person or family who needs it.
And that is a pretty powerful reminder of what community really means.
I also want to remind everyone that my district office is a year-round donation drop-off location for Mitzvah Circle.
That means you do not have to wait for a special drive or event to help.
If you are cleaning out closets, shopping a great sale, picking up a few extra essentials, or simply looking for an easy way to give back, you can bring donations to our office throughout the year and we will help make sure they get where they need to go.
Sometimes we look at the problems around us and wonder whether one small action can really make a difference.
It can.
One donation may feel small. One hour volunteering may feel small. One bag packed may feel small.
But when an entire community keeps doing those small things together, they become something very big.
I am incredibly grateful for the staff and volunteers at Mitzvah Circle and for every neighbor who continues to support their work.

HELPING FAMILIES PREPARE FOR WHAT COMES NEXT ??
|
We also recently welcomed students and families for our College Prep Night, and I loved seeing so many people come out to begin preparing for life after high school.
Anyone who has gone through this process knows there is a lot to figure out.
Where should I apply?
How much will college cost?
What financial aid is available?
What exactly is FAFSA?
How do scholarships work?
Should we have a PA 529 account?
How do you decide which school is the right fit?
And perhaps one of the biggest questions of all: Where do we even begin?
|
For families experiencing this process for the first time, it can be overwhelming.
That is why nights like this matter.
Our goal was not for every student to walk out of the room having their entire future planned. Our goal was to make sure students and parents left with more information, more resources, and hopefully a little more confidence about navigating the decisions ahead.
We discussed financial aid, FAFSA, scholarships, college savings through PA 529 plans, and the many factors families should consider when choosing a school and planning for education after graduation.
I am grateful to Senator Maria Collett and Representative Nancy Guenst for partnering with me to bring this event to our community, and to everyone who shared their knowledge and helped answer questions throughout the evening.
But most importantly, thank you to the students and families who spent part of their evening with us.
There are so many exciting possibilities ahead of our young people, and I want them to know that there is no single definition of what their path has to look like.
College planning is ultimately about helping students discover what comes next for them, what opportunities are available, and how we can help remove some of the barriers standing between them and their goals.
|
To all of our students figuring out that next chapter: keep asking questions, keep exploring your options, and keep dreaming big.
We are cheering you on.
|
Finally, I want to share something a little more personal.
This is definitely one of those bittersweet moments.
A little over a year ago, we welcomed Zach to our office. He was fresh out of college, beginning his professional career and figuring out exactly where that journey might take him.
Now, we are saying goodbye as he leaves our team to pursue an exciting new opportunity and I could not be prouder of him.
Over the past year, Zach became so much more than someone who worked in our office.
He became part of our team, part of our office family, and someone we knew we could count on.
He showed up. He worked hard. He learned quickly. He took on whatever was thrown his way, helped wherever he was needed, and played an important role in serving the people of the 151st District every single day.
The public usually sees the events, programs, announcements, photos, and services coming out of our office.
|
What people do not always see are the countless little things happening behind the scenes.
The phone calls.
The research.
The preparation.
The constituent questions.
The last-minute changes.
The long days.
The problem solving.
And the moments when everyone simply jumps in because something needs to get done.
Those things matter, and Zach has been part of so many of them over the last year.
One of the unexpected gifts of this job is getting to meet people at different points in their lives and, every once in a while, having the privilege of watching someone grow right in front of you.
There is something very special about knowing that our office got to be one small chapter at the very beginning of what I know will be an incredible career.
Of course, the selfish part of me would love to keep the really good ones forever.
But that is not what you hope for the people you care about.
You hope they learn.
You hope they grow.
You hope they take chances.
You hope they chase the opportunities they worked so hard for.
And eventually, you hope they outgrow the place where they started because something bigger is waiting for them.
Zach, thank you for everything you have given this office and this community over the last year.
Thank you for the long days, the hard work, the patience, the laughs, and all those little things you did that probably went unnoticed by most people but made our office better.
I hope you leave here knowing how much you contributed, how much you are appreciated, and how proud we are that we got to be part of the beginning of your journey.
Go chase every opportunity in front of you.
Keep learning.
Keep growing.
Keep working hard.
And keep being the kind of person who cares about doing things the right way.
This office will always be a little piece of your story, and you will always be a piece of ours. ??
We are going to miss you tremendously, but I cannot wait to see where life takes you next.
|
AND AS ALWAYS, WE'RE HERE
|
Whether you need help navigating state government, want information about programs available to you and your family, have a question about something happening in Harrisburg, or simply do not know where else to begin, please reach out to my office.
Serving the people of the 151st District remains one of the greatest honors of my life, and I am grateful every day.
There is always more work to do, more neighbors to help, more places to visit, and apparently a few more dinosaurs to navigate. ????
I look forward to seeing you around the district soon.

??Trunk or Treat + community resources + food trucks = a pretty great Saturday afternoon!
|
Join Rep. Liz Hanbidge, Rep. Ben Sanchez, the Ambler YMCA, and me for our Family Resource Fair & Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 24 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Ambler YMCA, 1325 McKean Road!
Bring the kids in costume, grab some treats, enjoy the food trucks, and connect with organizations offering helpful resources for families throughout our community.
This is all about bringing neighbors together, having some Halloween fun, and making it easier to learn about the services and support available right here in our area. ??
Costumes are welcome, so come dressed up and ready for some fun!
We hope to see you there! ??????
|
Calling all seniors, caregivers, family members, and friends! ??
My Annual Fall Senior Fair is coming up, and I hope you’ll join us!
It’s a great opportunity to connect with organizations and resources that support seniors and their families, ask questions, learn about available programs, and of course, come say hi!
Please help spread the word by sharing this with someone who might benefit. I hope to see you there!
