From the Capitol to Our Community: Making a Difference Together! ??

Dear Friends,

October is already flying by, and between everything happening here in the 151st District and our work in Harrisburg, there's certainly been no shortage of activity!

From helping secure resources for our first responders to watching neighbors come together for some wonderful causes, it's been a busy and rewarding few weeks.

Of course, there's also plenty of work happening behind the scenes that doesn't always make it into pictures or social media posts. So, I wanted to take a few minutes to catch you up on what we've been doing and share some of the great things happening in our communities!

?? Constituent Services: We're Here for YOU!

I want to start with something that doesn't always make headlines but is one of the most important things my office does every day: helping our neighbors navigate state government.

Whether you're having trouble with a state agency, need assistance accessing benefits, have questions about available programs, or simply don't know where to turn, my team is here to help.

And believe me, government isn't always easy to navigate!

Every situation is different, and sometimes what seems like a simple question turns into a complicated process. That's why my staff and I continuously participate in trainings like the one Sam joined, pictured below, to build relationships with state agencies, and research resources so we can better serve you.

I also believe in being upfront. Not every problem has a quick fix, and sometimes the outcome isn't what we hoped for. There are also limits to what a legislative office can do, such as providing legal advice or intervening in court proceedings.

But here's what I can promise: We will listen, take your concerns seriously, and do everything within our ability to help you find answers and resources.

You don't have to know which agency to contact or where to begin. That's part of what we're here for!

And a huge thank you to my incredible staff for the compassion, patience, and dedication they bring to serving our neighbors every single day. ??

?? From a Conversation to a Community Success!

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing a conversation turn into something that makes a real difference.

Back in January, I spent the day with the Ambler Borough Police Department in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. During that visit, we talked about the department's needs and ways I might be able to help.

One of those needs was utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) that would allow officers to navigate crowded community events, transport equipment, and respond more efficiently when assistance is needed.

We identified a grant opportunity, secured the funding, and I'm thrilled to share that those UTVs are now in service!

Fast forward to this year's Ambler Oktoberfest, and there I was watching those very vehicles being put to use!

Talk about a full-circle moment! ??

It's a perfect example of why I believe getting out into our communities, listening to the people doing the work, and understanding their challenges is so important.

Sometimes making a difference starts with simply asking, "What do you need?"

A huge thank you to the Ambler Borough Police Department for welcoming me, for the work they do to keep our communities safe, and for allowing me to play a small part in making this happen.

And Ambler, you certainly know how to throw an Oktoberfest! ??

?? Another Successful E-Waste Recycling Event!

If you have a collection of mysterious cords, old computers, or electronics you've been meaning to get rid of, you're definitely not alone! ??

Our neighbors showed up ready to clean out their closets, basements, and garages at our latest E-Waste Recycling Event, and I couldn't be more grateful!

Events like these help keep unwanted electronics out of landfills while making responsible recycling easier and more accessible for our community.

A HUGE thank you to my amazing staff for keeping everything running smoothly, our wonderful partners at The Junkluggers for once again doing the heavy lifting (quite literally!), and our generous hosts at Tryzub Ukrainian American Sports Center for welcoming us.

And, of course, thank you to every resident who participated!

Another successful community event in the books! ????

?? A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way!

Some of the most meaningful moments happen when our neighbors come together to help people they may never even meet.

Recently, I had the pleasure of delivering another wonderful collection of stuffed animals and children's books donated through my office to One House at a Time and its Beds for Kids program. ??

This incredible organization provides beds and bedding to children who otherwise may not have a safe, comfortable place of their own to sleep.

Something many of us take for granted can mean the world to a child.

And those little extras, like a stuffed animal to cuddle or a book to read before bedtime, can make that new bed feel even more special.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've been able to help provide those little touches of comfort and kindness.

We're still collecting donations, and there's currently a special need for NEW pillows and twin-size sheet sets.

Our office also continues to accept new or gently loved stuffed animals and children's books appropriate for children ages 2 through 17.

If you're able to contribute, we'd love your help!

You can learn more about this wonderful organization at www.onehouseatatime.org.

To everyone who has donated, and to the amazing team at One House at a Time, thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of children and families.

Every child deserves a safe place to sleep and something special to call their own. ??

?? Looking Ahead and Staying Connected

Whether it's helping a resident work through a difficult situation, securing resources for our first responders, protecting our environment, or supporting families in need, every part of this work matters.

And none of it happens alone.

It takes dedicated staff, community partners, local organizations, volunteers, and neighbors willing to lend a hand.

As we continue through the fall legislative session, I'll be back and forth to Harrisburg working on the issues that affect our families and communities, while my district team continues helping residents right here at home.

And I want to keep hearing from you!

Whether you have a concern, need assistance, have an idea, or just want to share something wonderful happening in your neighborhood, please reach out.

My office is your office, and we're always happy to help.

Thank you for the kindness you continue to show one another, and for being involved in our community. It is a privilege to represent you.

We've got some pretty amazing people here in the 151st, and I'm excited about everything we can continue accomplishing together! ??
