October 17 email: Celebrating Community, Service, and Partnership

As promised you can click here to see a summary of all the legislation that was voted on 3rd in the House between 9/30 and 10/8.

Dear Friends,

I love the moments that create wonderful reminders of why I am so proud to represent our community. From celebrating achievements in early childhood education to supporting families in need, and connecting with local business leaders and healthcare professionals, I have seen firsthand the strength and compassion that make our district shine.

Holiday Gift Drive ????

Help make the season brighter for local kids!

Once again, we’re collecting gifts for children to help provide a bit of holiday magic to the season. Each child has shared their “big wishes” along with clothing sizes and favorite colors. Pick a child, shop their wish list, and spread some holiday cheer!

?? How to Participate ??

  • Choose a child from the list
  • Shop for their wish list and/or clothing needs
  • Drop off unwrapped gifts at 605 Horsham Rd, Horsham PA 19044 by November 28th

Let’s come together and make this holiday magical for every child!

?? Celebrating Excellence in Early Learning

It was a joy to celebrate the incredible achievement of SMG Clubhouse, which has earned the highest rating in Pennsylvania’s Keystone STARS program. This top recognition is not given lightly; it reflects years of dedication, professional growth, and a deep commitment to children and families.

As a former childcare provider and a member of the House Children and Youth Committee, I know firsthand how much heart, patience, and perseverance it takes to reach this level of excellence. Achieving the highest Keystone STARS rating means that SMG Clubhouse has demonstrated outstanding quality in areas such as staff education, leadership, family engagement, and community partnerships.

What makes this accomplishment so meaningful is that it goes beyond a certificate or a rating. It represents a safe and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive. It shows parents that their children are in the hands of educators who not only meet expectations but consistently exceed them. And it sets a powerful example for other providers across Pennsylvania who are striving to raise the bar in early childhood education.

Congratulations to the entire SMG Clubhouse team for creating a space where children feel supported, inspired, and ready to learn. You are giving our youngest learners the best possible start in life, and that is something our entire community can be proud of.

?? Fighting Hunger Together

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to our food drive for the Garden of Health Food Bank. Your generosity is not just filling shelves, it is filling hearts and making a real difference for families right here in our community.

Food insecurity continues to grow across Pennsylvania, and for too many of our neighbors, the question of where the next meal will come from is a daily struggle. No one should ever have to face that uncertainty. Every single donation, no matter the size, is a reminder that when we come together, we can ease that burden and bring hope to those who need it most.

I am deeply grateful to be in a position where I can use my platform to shine a light on this need and collaborate with organizations, advocates, and community members who are committed to true and meaningful good. This work is not about politics, it is about people, about neighbors helping neighbors, and about building a community where compassion and care are at the center of everything we do.

Our office will continue collecting nonperishable items every day we are open, and I encourage you to join us in this effort. Together, we can fight hunger, lift up our neighbors, and build a stronger, more compassionate Pennsylvania.

??? Connecting with Local Businesses

Thank you to the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to your annual Legislative Day. I truly enjoyed connecting with local leaders and discussing both the challenges and opportunities facing our businesses. These conversations are invaluable because they help me better understand how we can strengthen our local economy and support the people who keep it moving forward.

Together, we have the ability to advance commonsense legislation such as H.B. 1734, which is designed to provide meaningful support for local businesses and create an environment where they can grow and thrive. When we work in partnership, we can ensure that our policies reflect the needs of business owners, employees, and families across our community.

I am deeply grateful to be in a position where I can use my platform to listen, learn, and collaborate for meaningful progress. The voices of our business community are essential in shaping legislation that builds a stronger and healthier economy for everyone.

To the businesses of the 151st District, I encourage you to engage with me directly. Share your experiences, challenges, and ideas so that I can better understand your needs and advocate for the resources and policies that will best support you and your teams. By working together, we can build an economy that is resilient, fair, and full of opportunity.

?? Listening to Healthcare Professionals

I am also grateful to the Montgomery County Medical Association for hosting such a meaningful event. Meeting with medical professionals across a wide range of specialties was both insightful and inspiring. These conversations are invaluable because, in my role, I am often called upon to vote on a broad array of legislation that affects many aspects of daily life.

It is impossible for anyone to be an expert in every field, which is why I place such importance on listening to those who bring firsthand knowledge and experience. Having the opportunity to engage in dialogue with professionals who understand the real-world application and effects of potential legislation allows me to see beyond the text of a bill and consider the impact it will have on people, families, and communities.

Hearing directly from those on the front lines of healthcare helps me make more informed decisions and strengthens my ability to advocate for the needs of the people I represent. I am deeply thankful for the willingness of medical professionals to share their perspectives and to partner with me in the work of building healthier and stronger communities across our region.

Each of these moments reflects what I value most: partnership, service, and a shared commitment to building a brighter future for Pennsylvania. Thank you for being part of this journey.
