August 22 email: Celebrating Leza Perkins: A Fond Farewell and Heartfelt Thanks

Dear Friends,

This month, we bid a bittersweet farewell to someone whose presence has shaped our office from the very beginning. Leza Perkins, our full-time Constituent Service Advisor, will be retiring on August 28th after faithfully serving our community since we first opened our doors in January 2023, and the people of the Commonwealth for nearly 27 remarkable years—19 with the House of Representatives and as a teacher.

Leza has been the warm smile that greeted every visitor and the calm, caring voice on the other end of the phone. Her welcoming demeanor and tireless commitment to helping constituents have been nothing short of extraordinary. She has been a steady hand, a compassionate listener, and a true advocate for those in need.

And yes, for those who’ve noticed, our uncanny resemblance has been a running joke for years—same energy, same hairstyle, and occasionally even the same outfit. It has been said that we were interchangeable, which only proves how lucky I have been to share so much time with someone so admired.

While we will miss her deeply, we are thrilled for Leza as she steps into a well-deserved retirement. We hope this new chapter brings her plenty of time to pursue the art she loves, as well as the peace and joy that come from creating—more time for family and friends, and opportunities to explore new challenges and interests to add to her list of accomplishments.

Thank you, Leza, for everything. You have been a cornerstone of our team and a bright light in our community. We wish you nothing but happiness in the years ahead!

??61.5 Years of Dedication—Let’s Celebrate Richard!????

What an incredible moment it was to congratulate Richard, a proud member of UFCW 1776, on his well-deserved retirement from Acme Markets after an astonishing 61.5 years of service!

Rich began his journey on November 9, 1963, working the night crew at the same store where his mom once worked. How’s that for a legacy? Over the years, he touched countless lives across multiple stores, and since 1984, he has been a familiar and beloved face at Horsham Acme, working the front end with a smile and unmatched dedication.

His coworkers admire him. Customers adore him. And now, we celebrate him. ????

Please join me in celebrating Richard for his six decades of hard work, heart, and service. Cheers to a retirement full of joy—you’ve earned every minute of it!

Honoring 50 Years of Local History

It was a true privilege to join Rep. Liz Hanbidge in presenting an official citation to the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society in celebration of their 50th anniversary!

Since 1975, WVHS has been preserving the rich heritage of Ambler, Whitpain, and Lower Gwynedd, keeping our community’s stories alive through artifacts, archives, and historic buildings like the 1895 Public School and the charming Franklinville one-room schoolhouse.

From hosting educational programs to restoring treasured landmarks, WVHS continues to be a cornerstone of local history and pride. Here’s to 50 years of dedication—and many more to come!
