July 25 email: Introducing our Summer Intern and Updates from Harrisburg

Dear Friends,

As summer continues, and we remain waiting for the Senate to return to Harrisburg to continue movement with the budget, our office remains hard at work—and I’m excited to share a few meaningful updates from Harrisburg and beyond!

?? Meet Our Intern, Sam!

We are thrilled to welcome Sam, our newest intern! She is a student athlete entering her senior year at West Chester University this fall, majoring in Political Science with minors in Social Work and Law, Politics, and Society.  Sam is passionate about mental health, women’s rights, and the environment—and in her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. If you see her around, be sure to say hello!

? A Championship Celebration at the Capitol!

What a day it was to welcome the Upper Dublin High School Baseball Team to Harrisburg! These incredible student athletes made history by winning their first-ever PIAA 5A State Championship—bringing home the gold with unmatched heart, hustle, and hometown pride. The Cardinals’ achievement has electrified their school and community, and I was honored to help recognize their victory in the PA General Assembly. Congratulations, Cardinals!

???? Fighting for Families: The PA Momnibus Package

I recently stood with my colleagues in support of Pennsylvania’s newest Momnibus legislative package—a bold initiative designed to combat the maternal mortality crisis and invest in the health of parents and children across our Commonwealth. Together, we’re building a stronger future where every family has the support they need to thrive.

?? Standing with the LGBTQIA+ Community

I am also proud to continue standing in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ advocates and colleagues. Every Pennsylvanian deserves to live free from discrimination. That’s why I support the PA Fairness Act, which would finally enshrine anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ individuals in employment, housing, and public accommodations.  HB 300 is sponsored by Representative Kenyatta and is currently in the House Judiciary Committee. These protections are long overdue—and I remain committed to pushing for a more just, inclusive Pennsylvania.

Upcoming Events

Fall Shredding Event

Join us for our Free Shredding Event—a fantastic opportunity to protect your personal information while making a positive impact on your community! ??????

Safely dispose of old documents and keep your sensitive information out of the wrong hands. Paper shredding is a powerful deterrent to identity theft, making it nearly impossible for thieves to reconstruct private details. Plus, shredding supports paper recycling, helping to reduce waste in landfills!

And here’s another way to give back—bring non-perishable food items for donation and support local food banks while you’re here.

We’re thrilled to offer this service once again for our constituents. Protect your identity, reduce waste, and help your community—all in one event! Hope to see you there!

Calling All Veterans!

Join us at the Veterans Expo on Friday, September 19th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM!

Connect with fellow vets, explore valuable resources, meet local organizations, and celebrate the strength and service of our veteran community.

?? Location: 130 Davisville Rd., Warminster PA 18974

Whether you’re newly transitioned or long retired, there's something here for you. Don’t miss out—you served us, now let us serve you!
