Feb. 7 e-mail: My first bill of the session clears committee!

Dear Friends,

This week in Session, we were presented with the Governor’s budget proposal for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. I will be discussing that in next week’s email since I am just returning to the district and need time to get all of the information together for you, so stay tuned.

Last week, however, marked the completion of our first Session week in Harrisburg for the 2025/2026 Session, and it was a productive start! All of our committees officially reorganized, and I’m excited to share some updates with you.

As a reminder, I am a proud member of several key House committees: Tourism, Recreation & Economic Development, Aging & Older Adult Services, Children & Youth, Energy, and Human Services. These committees play a crucial role in shaping policies that impact our community, and I am committed to working diligently on each one.

During our reorganization, I was honored to be chosen as the Secretary for the House Tourism, Recreation & Economic Development Committee. This role allows me to contribute even more to the development and promotion of our district’s tourism and economic growth.

Additionally, I am thrilled to announce that I have been appointed as the Vice Chair of the Southeast Delegation. This position provides me with the opportunity to collaborate closely with my colleagues to address the unique needs and priorities of our region.

And in exciting news, my first bill of the session, HB 304, was reported out of the House Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee with a unanimous vote! ??

House Bill 304 seeks to honor and extend the same rights and benefits under Pennsylvania law to naturalized citizens who served in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. These brave individuals have earned their place among us, and it is only fitting that we recognize and support them as we do our own veterans. By passing HB304, we uphold our values of fairness, respect, and gratitude for those who have served.

I am looking forward to a productive session and am dedicated to representing our community’s interests in Harrisburg. Let’s work together to make a positive impact!

The journey has been remarkable, filled with countless moments of perseverance and triumph. Each game has brought us closer together as a community, united by our shared love for the Eagles. As they take the field, we are behind them, cheering with all our might.
