Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, today announced that 11 projects in his district will be receiving a total of $2.92 million in grant funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority through the Local Share Account for selected applications from 2021. “It is always a pleasure working with my House and Senate colleagues, municipal officials, and organizational leaders to successfully secure vital funds for important and meaningful projects like these for our district,” Pashinski said. “These grant awards are perfect examples of how LSA funding helps invest in our communities in addition to providing property tax relief. HARRISBURG, April 22 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, announced today the approval of a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant totaling $2 million to the Greater Wilkes-Barre Industrial Fund for the Gateway Project 3.0. “Once completed, this project will be the final piece of the puzzle for the revitalization of River Street, making it an extremely attractive and very welcoming thoroughfare for residents and visitors alike,” Pashinski said. “I’m proud to have successfully advocated for this RACP grant as well as the 2020 $2.5 million grant awarded for this project . This will be a major advancement for the city of Wilkes-Barre, making our city more beautiful, more accessible, more shoppable, and more livable.” The funding will be used to help create a mixed-use, 5-story, urban development, complete with a 110-room hotel, roof top bar and restaurant, breakfast cafe, and conference space. The center will showcase a panoramic view of the river, mountains, and city skyline from the rooftop bar and restaurant. The conference center will also provide flexible, technologically advanced meeting space, including a balcony and terrace overlooking the Susquehanna River. HARRISBURG, April 22 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, announced today the approval of a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant totaling $1.1 million to Domestic Violence Service Center Inc. to expand their existing Wilkes-Barre facility. “The safety of ALL in our community remains a top priority for me and this funding will help protect more victims of domestic violence in our area,” Pashinski said. “This expansion will help protect some of the most vulnerable among us – including children, women and seniors facing domestic violence. Many thanks to Governor Wolf for approving this grant and congratulations to everyone working to protect victims of domestic violence across Luzerne County.” The funding will help to add an expansion to the existing DVSC facility. Work associated with the expansion will include the addition of six client bedrooms, as well as men's and women's toilet and bathing facilities, expanding the existing kitchen area, and installing a HVAC, alarm and security systems. HARRISBURG, April 20 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, today announced that the Wolf Administration has approved $1 million for Hanover Township to enhance infrastructure utilizing funding from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The $1 million will be used to update the railroad alignment of the former Lehigh Valley Railroad between Mountain Top and Laurel Run Borough. Improvements include grading, resurfacing, repairing or improving drainage; interpretive and wayfinding signage; fencing as needed; bollards and gate installations to prevent unauthorized vehicles; and other rail-to-trail improvements. “Today’s announcement is a substantial investment in Hanover Township’s infrastructure, which will improve public safety, mobility and quality of life for residents,” Pashinski said. “I want to thank President Biden and members of Congress for working across the aisle to approve the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and making this funding possible.
