Kulik announces $7 million in new grants secured to expand local paving, pallet production and gift card manufacturing

CORAPOLIS, July 17 – State Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny, announced today that $7 million in state grant funding was awarded to expand paving, pallet and packaging, and gift card manufacturing operations in the 45th Legislative District.

"This funding is a direct investment in our local economy and the people who keep it running," Kulik said. "From paving to packaging to manufacturing, these projects will create jobs and help our businesses grow right here at home."

The projects receiving funding are as follows:

  • $5.8 million to Lindy Paving Inc. for the Allegheny County Sustainable Asphalt Plant II in Neville Township, covering general construction and equipment including a Gencor Low Carbon Plant, crane rental, a loader and a Line RAP System installation.
  • $750,000 to Achieva Support to renovate the Bridgeville Pallet and Packing Facility, including interior redesign, upgraded building systems, ADA-compliant restrooms and exterior improvements.
  • $500,000 to the Wolfe Companies LLC for an advanced gift card manufacturing facility in Robinson Township. The funding supports construction, demolition, and additions including a truck port, metal roofing, doors and windows.

The grants are funded through the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the state Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
