The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced on Monday that hospitals must obtain written informed consent from patients before they undergo sensitive examinations such as pelvic, breast, rectal and prostate exams performed by medical students, nurse practitioners or physician assistants for “educational and training purposes.” Read more
