Updates on SNAP & LIHEAP

PA Representative David Delloso banner image

Dear Neighbor,

Due to the federal government shutdown, the start of LIHEAP season has been pushed back to December 3rd. You will not be able to apply until then. More information from the Department of Human Services is available here.

Likewise, the federal government will not be distributing funding to states for their food assistance programs, so SNAP recipients will not receive new payments until the end of the shutdown.

I understand how stressful and upsetting these situations are for those wondering how they’ll make ends meet. While my office can’t control what’s happening in Washington, we’re here to help connect you with resources that may provide some relief.

Food pantries in our district and their hours are below. If you're looking for a way to support our neighbors, they are also accepting food and financial donations.

Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry – 703 Lincoln Ave., Prospect Park | (610) 532-9000 – Open Tuesdays 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.; Thursdays 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. While some walk-up clients will be served, you are strongly advised to schedule an appointment online at www.delcoloavesandfishes.org or by arriving 1 hour before distribution begins.

The Food Pantry at Ridley Park United Methodist Church – 501 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park | (484) 442-0097 – Open Nov. 5, 19, & 20; Dec. 3, 17, & 18. Click here for more info.
