Reminders for Medicare enrollment & Election Day

PA Representative David Delloso banner image

Dear Neighbor,

I want to give you two important reminders:

First, it is now Medicare Open Enrollment season through December 7th.

While Medicare is a federal program, the commonwealth of Pennsylvania provides free Medicare counseling via the PA Medi program for those who need it.

If you are turning 65 and would like to learn about your options, please call my office at 610-534-1002 to schedule a phone appointment with PA Medi.

These appointments are available only once a month, so don’t hesitate to set one up soon. For more information about PA Medi in general, you may also call 1-800-783-7067.

Second, general election day is November 4th. If you are not yet registered to vote, Monday the 20th is your last day.

Of course, you can vote in person at your local polling place; the polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here to find out where to vote. If it’s your first time voting at a new polling place, you will need to show a photo ID to cast your ballot.

You can also vote by mail. It’s a little complicated, so here are the basic steps:

  • You must first request an application for a ballot. This is not the ballot itself, but just the application to be eligible for Vote-by-Mail. You can request this application by going to the Delaware County Bureau of Elections in Media, or by having them mail it to you. The last day you can do this is October 28th.
  • After sending in the application, you should soon receive the ballot itself. This is form where you actually fill out who you’re voting for. You can mail it to the county election office or drop it off at a designated dropbox. The last day to send in your ballot is Election Day, November 4th, by 8 p.m.

Sincerely,

Pennsylvania State Rep. David M. Delloso

FYI

Your access to COVID-19 and other vaccines is protected through 2026

Governor Shapiro has issued an Executive Order to protect Pennsylvanians’ access to vaccines and to safeguard your freedom to make your own healthcare decisions. Under this order, health insurance companies and Medicaid must cover COVID-19 vaccines and other recommended vaccines without copays, deductibles, or other costs.

This means you can continue to access the vaccines you choose, and they will remain covered—even if guidance from new appointees to the FDA or CDC suggests otherwise.

Vaccines are now covered if they follow the recommendations of national medical organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians. The State Board of Pharmacy and the Insurance Department recently approved these and several other trusted medical organizations to establish vaccine guidelines in Pennsylvania for physicians and pharmacists to follow.
