MOMNIBUS 2.0 ROUNDTABLE

This week I joined the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus for their Roundtable on the MOMNIBUS 2.0. I spoke on HB 1088, the bill I authored, which passed out of the House this month, that would offer insurance coverage on blood pressure monitors to protect postpartum women with high blood pressure. It is an honor to support black maternal health and to continue to fight to keep our mothers safe.

FLOOR VISIT FROM PA STATE POLICE AND NATIONAL GUARD

This week in Harrisburg I welcomed a big class of cadets from the Law and Leadership Academy program held by the PA State Police in partnership with the Pennsylvania National Guard. The cadets are all interested in pursuing careers in law enforcement.

FLOOR VISIT FROM AMERICAN LEGION’S KEYSTONE BOYS STATE PROGRAM

I also got the opportunity this week in the state Capitol to learn about the American Legion’s Keystone Boys State Program for young men who are interested in leadership. The program is a week-long leadership development program that uses a state government simulation as the vehicle for instilling the principles of civic engagement, democracy, and patriotism in the students who attend. It was great to meet these engaged young men!
