Honored to serve our district for another term

It’s an incredible honor to be able represent our Allegheny Valley community in the state House for another two years. My priorities for the new term, which begins in January, start with listening to you so that I can be an effective voice for you in Harrisburg and build on the progress we’ve made. And as always, my staff in my district office in Cheswick is here to help you with any state service or program, so never hesitate to reach out.

I understand the significance and weight of this responsibility. Thank you to everyone who voted and volunteered this week — your participation is what makes our democracy strong.

Collecting donations of food and snacks
for students in need

My district office in Cheswick is a drop-off location for shelf-stable, easy to prepare food and snacks for Allegheny Valley SD students who are in need for weekends and school breaks. We’re participating in the Allegheny Valley HOPE Association Back Pack food program.

Speaking about hunting and conservation

I enjoyed talking last weekend about what hunting has meant in my life and how it has only increased my desire to do my part to protect the natural world. The event was held at Beechwood Farms with the Audubon Society, PA Game Commission, and Humane Animal Rescue Wildlife Rehab Center. Environmentalists, birders, hikers, hunters—we all have so much common!

Applications open for home heating help

Applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program are open. Through the program, you can apply for a cash grant to help pay your heating bill—from $200 to $1,000 based on your household size, income, and fuel type.

For more information, click here. You can also contact my office if you need help applying for LIHEAP or need help with any utility-related issues.

Partnering with the county to help you with
tax and licensing matters

I’m pleased to offer a helpful, regular service at my Cheswick office: Once a month, a representative from the office of Allegheny County Treasurer Erica Rocchi Brusselars will be available on-site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check out all of the upcoming dates in the above graphic.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these special days and hours at my office at 1296 Pittsburgh St. You can pay county property taxes, apply for the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion or Senior Citizen Tax Relief programs, or obtain hunting, fishing, or dog licenses.

Veterans services at my office

Twice a month, a Veterans Service Officer (VSO) will be at my Cheswick office, 1296 Pittsburgh St., to assist veterans with a variety of services. The VSO will be available on the third Wednesday and Thursday of each month.
