Scott brings home another $2.9 million in grants for district

HARRISBURG, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Greg Scott is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in his mission of fair state funding with $2.9 million in grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The projects range from water and sewer improvement projects to arts and culture organizations.

"As your representative, my promise is to advocate fiercely to ensure that our region receives its fair share of state funding,” said Scott, D-Montgomery. “By securing these resources, we empower our community to thrive and address its unique needs. These funds will improve on the region’s quality of life and further strengthen our commitment to the community. Together, we build a stronger and more prosperous future for everyone."

Grants were awarded to the following:

  • $1.45 million – to the Conshohocken Borough Authority for improvements to the wastewater treatment plant located in Conshohocken Borough.
  • $468,225 – to the Norristown Municipal Waste Authority for the replacement and relocation of wastewater treatment plant equipment located in Norristown Borough.
  • $467,800 – to the Norristown Storm Water Authority for a storm water improvement project located in Norristown Borough.
  • $369,750 – to the East Norriton-Plymouth-Whitpain Joint Sewer Authority to replace an existing Scum Concentrator at the wastewater treatment plant in Plymouth Township.
  • $10,000 – to Expressive Path Inc. to establish new programs and marketing for the arts organization located in Norristown Borough.
  • $116,728 – to the Norristown Zoological Society DBA Elmwood Park Zoo for operating expenses for the accredited zoo and to offset operating costs for establishing new programs and marketing for the performing arts organization, The Centre Theatre located in Norristown Borough.
  • $33,508 – to Theatre Horizon for operating costs for the performing arts organization located in Norristown Borough.

The grants are from the H20 PA Program, Small Water and Sewer Program and PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program, which are administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The H20 PA Program offers grants for drinking water, sanitary sewer, and storm water projects, while the Small Water and Sewer Program supports infrastructure projects for small water, sewer, and storm systems. The PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program supports nonprofit arts and culture organizations in the commonwealth.
