Madsen releases statement on state-related university funding

HARRISBURG, July 7 – State Rep. Dave Madsen, D-Dauphin, released the following statement on the House’s failure to fund state-related universities.

“I am greatly disappointed that the General Assembly couldn’t come together to support our state-related universities. Using Pennsylvania's college students as pawns in Harrisburg's political games is a disgraceful tactic during our state budget discussions. I urge the Republican Caucus to recognize the immense significance of institutions like Pitt, Penn State, Temple, Lincoln, and other state-related schools in shaping the very fabric of life in our state. We take great pride in our esteemed centers of higher education and fully understand our duty to honor their significance through the legislation we enact in the Capitol. My purpose is to cast my vote in support of funding our state schools, rather than causing disruption and turmoil for them.”
