Madsen releases statement on PA budget passage

HARRISBURG, June 6 – State Rep. Dave Madsen, D-Dauphin, today issued the following statement regarding the state budget passed by the General Assembly:

"This budget demonstrates a significant commitment to enhancing crucial areas such as mental health, public safety, violence prevention, infrastructure improvements and workforce development. While I had hoped for additional investments in equitable education and school facility improvements, I acknowledge the progress made by this budget in propelling our commonwealth forward. However, it is important to recognize that there is still much work ahead of us to fully fulfill our responsibility to those who rely on state programs and funding. Throughout the 2023-24 session, I will continue my unwavering dedication to advocating for improvements in existing programs and the creation of new initiatives aimed at uplifting our communities.

"I cast my vote in favor of this budget, understanding that no budget ever achieves all the desired outcomes. Regardless, this budget represents a substantial step forward in addressing the needs of my constituents. I look forward to seeing these initiatives and allocations through and making the most out of this session.”
