HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Rep. Melissa Cerrato took the oath of office in the state Capitol today to begin her first term representing the 151st Legislative District in Montgomery County. The noon swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of the 2023-24 legislative session of the Pennsylvania House, its 207th. Court of Common Pleas Judge John McNally administered the oath of office. “I am honored to begin working for the residents of the 151 st Legislative District as their new state representative,” said Cerrato, D-Montgomery. “I am here to listen to and uplift the voices of the communities that I represent and help bring about positive change for all Pennsylvanians. “It’s a privilege to represent my neighbors in Harrisburg and a responsibility I will not take lightly.” Cerrato said that her priorities will be ensuring the rights of Pennsylvanians are protected, that residents are able to support themselves and their families by prioritizing livable wages, and that the children across this commonwealth are provided proper educations.
