State Rep. Shusterman to host Earth Day Shredding Event and Canned Food Drive

WEST CHESTER, April 21 – State Rep. Melissa Shusterman, D-Chester, is inviting the public to come out to a free shredding event and canned food drive tomorrow from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Penn State Great Valley, 30 E. Swedesford Road in Malvern.

Residents of the 157th District are welcome to dispose up to three boxes/bags of unwanted documents ecologically and securely. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands.

The Chester County Food Bank also will be on hand to accept much needed canned food donations. Lingering pandemic effects, reductions in SNAP benefits, and other factors have contributed to increased food insecurity, which has strained food bank supplies. Chester County Food Bank could use donations of:

  • Canned proteins.
  • Canned fruit.
  • Peanut butter.
  • Cereal.
  • Oatmeal.
  • Brown rice.
