Mullins named to PA House Appropriations Committee

HARRISBURG, Sept. 22 – State Rep. Kyle Mullins, D-Lackawanna, today announced that he has been appointed to serve on the House Appropriations Committee.

“Membership on the Appropriations Committee comes as a deep honor but also with significant responsibility as the committee is not only tasked with the state's budget every year, but also considers major fiscal policies that directly impact students, seniors, businesses and workers throughout the Commonwealth," Mullins said. “Nothing motivates me more than working to improve the lives of the people I serve and making positive impacts in the communities we call home. This new committee assignment is a powerful way to advocate for my district and to ensure that my constituents' hard-earned dollars are effectively put to work.”

In addition to the Appropriations committee, Mullins also serves on the House Consumer Affairs, Insurance, Local Government and Transportation committees. All five committees hear testimony and review legislation related to their respective topic area before being voted on by the entire House, thus helping to drive state policy in these areas.

Mullins is serving in his second term as state representative for the 112th Legislative District, which includes Archbald, Blakely, Dunmore, Jessup, Olyphant, Throop and portions of Scranton.
