Malagari welcomes additional funding for new Hatfield police facility

HATFIELD, March 26 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced that $393,750 has been awarded to Hatfield Township for transportation improvements.

“After having the honor of recently breaking ground at what will be Hatfield’s new police facility, I now have the pleasure of announcing additional funding will be used to ensure its success,” Malagari said. “I want to thank the community leaders who advocated for this grant and made this all possible.”

Malagari said the $393,750 will be used for roadway and sidewalk improvements. The associated transportation improvements, including access upgrades and pedestrian enhancements, will also enhance accessibility to the Hatfield Township Nature Area located adjacent to the new police facility.

“Hatfield PD has been faithfully serving our township and borough for over 50 years,” Malagari said. “I’m happy to see them upgrade to a facility that can support their operations.”

The funding comes from the Multimodal Transportation Fund administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The MTF provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.

The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
