Dear Neighbor,

It’s been an inspiring month in our district—from celebrating Diwali and Lansdale’s first Outfest to continuing our efforts to support families in need. As Election Day approaches and we look toward the holidays, I’m grateful for the way our community continues to show up for one another.

Important changes to federally funded benefits

While the federal government is shut down, it will not make SNAP (food stamps) or LIHEAP (energy bill assistance) payments for states to distribute to the millions of people who depend on them – including many families in our own community. Community organizations are here to help the best they can and are accepting food and financial donations from those who are able. My office is here to help connect you with additional state and local resources that can help.

You may still submit your applications to both the SNAP and LIHEAP programs.

SNAP applications will be processed, but most LIHEAP applications cannot legally be processed until the program funding is disbursed. (Only pre-season cash grant applications will continue to be accepted for processing.) Pending federal funding, LIHEAP applications will open on December 3rd. In the meantime, those affected should contact their utility company to learn about available assistance programs, and refer to the list of local food pantries below:

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick: (202) 225-4276

Delivering for you

I’m honored to be recognized as one of PA's most effective legislators in a recent analysis by the Center for Effective Lawmaking.

When I first ran for office, it was because I wanted to be the voice for my community in Harrisburg, and I've channeled this by turning ideas from neighbors into policy solutions. I'm proud of what I've been able to achieve with bipartisan compromise, bolstered by support from my staff and my community. This wouldn't have been possible without you!

A vibrant Diwali celebration

Happy Diwali!???? My team and I had a great time celebrating the Festival of Lights with our friends and neighbors at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Souderton.

My hope is that all those who celebrate had a blessed Diwali filled with brightness, sweetness, love and togetherness!

Celebrating our LGBTQ+ community

To commemorate National Coming Out Day on October 11th, we celebrated Lansdale's first EVER Outfest ???‍?????‍?? We enjoyed a night full of unbridled joy as we came together for our queer community. Now more than ever, it's so important that we show up for our LGBTQ+ neighbors, and I'm grateful to everyone who put the work in and made this event possible!

Giving Back to Our Neighbors

Mitzvah Circle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides clothing and other necessities to so many of our neighbors, suffered a devastating fire last month and lost two truckloads full of supplies.

Last week, my staff and I were able to drop by their facility and deliver your generous donations to help them recover. Thank you to all who have helped us support them so far!

In the face of increased need in our community during the holiday season, we are extending this collection. My Lansdale office is continuing to accept donations to help them make up for what was lost, in partnership with my colleagues in the PA House and Senate.
