Around the 53rd District

Dear Neighbor,

Good news from Harrisburg! The PA House passed my bill (H.B. 411) to provide long-overdue financial relief to some of our most senior retirees!

This COLA would help nearly 60,000 retired public employees—many now in their 80s—who haven’t seen a pension adjustment in 23 years. It’s time we support those who spent their careers serving us.

In addition, the House also passed my AP Exam Cost Reduction bill (H.B. 819) that would help provide access to rigorous courses of study for all students. I’m particularly proud of this bill, as it was proposed by students of North Penn High School who also aided in its crafting when I introduced it for the first time in our previous legislative session.

Both bills now move to the Senate for approval.

Supporting our Community

Reducing costs for veterans

My District Office hosted our first Veterans’ Discount Card Event and it was a hit! Dozens of veterans registered their DD-14s and received cards good for discounts at 650 businesses.

Thank you to Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg and her staff for helping us make it such a great event.

Helping local seniors stay healthy

My colleague, Sen. Maria Collett and I joined with the Pennsylvania Association of Physical Therapists to host a Healthy Finances presentation at Generations of Indian Valley.

Attendees learned important information about how to keep their minds, bodies and wallets in shape.

Get Ready for Spring Cleaning!

We have a couple of events coming up to help keep your home and the planet cleaner!
