APPLY TODAY FOR A PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE

We’re over halfway through 2026, and so far my office has helped return nearly $195,000 in Property Tax/Rent Rebates for over 400 folks in the 45th Legislative District.

The program helps older adults and people with disabilities 18 or older receive a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 on property taxes or rent paid in 2025. The amount of money received is based on income.

There’s still time to apply before the December 31st deadline. Contact my office to find out if you qualify and let us help you apply!

SUPPLEMENTAL LIHEAP PAYMENTS

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services announced that it’s issuing a $100 supplemental payment to eligible households in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The additional payment is from remaining funds from the last year.

Approximately 193,000 households will receive a notice informing them that they are eligible for the supplement. The payment will automatically be issued directly to the household’s utility provider to use on an outstanding heating or current energy bill.

INVESTING IN YOUR SAFETY

Nonprofit organizations can apply now for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to enhance security and protect against hate crimes at their facilities. I voted to include this $10 million program administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in the 2026-27 state budget.

Grants can range from $5,000 to $150,000 for a variety of eligible items, including:

  • Safety and security planning and training;
  • To purchase safety and security equipment and technology;
  • To upgrade existing structures that enhance safety and security; and
  • Vulnerability and threat assessments.

The deadline for organizations to apply online is Thursday, Sept. 10.

TOURING TURNER’S DAIRY

I joined with some of my colleagues in the PA House and the Westmoreland County Farm Bureau to tour Turner’s Dairy.

Pennsylvania is unique in that our dairy industry is driven by smaller, family-owned farms. Turner’s gets all of their milk from Pennsylvania farms, all in the local area.
