Thank you to everyone who came out to my Senior Fair at the Kennedy Township Fire Hall last week! It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and to help connect older residents with programs, services, and resources that can make a real difference in their lives. As a result of the federal government shutdown, Pennsylvania is being forced to delay LIHEAP—vital home-heating assistance for 300,000 families—by a full month. If you need help heating your home this winter, here's a list of utility companies' assistance programs.

Election Day is right around the corner!  If you plan to vote by mail, the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is October 28. Apply for a mail-in ballot at vote.pa.gov/ApplyMailBallot.

Other key dates to remember:

• Tuesday, November 4 – Election Day: Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Voters must be in line by 8:00 p.m. to cast their ballot. Find your polling place at vote.pa.gov/Polls.
• Tuesday, November 4, by 8:00 p.m. – Deadline for mail-in and absentee ballots to be received.
