SAVE THE DATE FOR MY SENIOR FAIR

I hope you can join me at my annual Senior Fair on Thursday, October 23, at the Kennedy Township Fire Hall. There will be a variety of resources and information available for older residents. My staff and I will also be there to answer questions and assist with state-related programs and services.

ARE YOU READY TO VOTE?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4.

The deadline to register to vote is October 20. If you’ve changed your name or address, or if you turn 18 by Election Day, make sure your registration is up to date at vote.pa.gov/Register.

If you’d like to vote by mail, apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot by October 28. County election offices must receive completed ballots by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

If you prefer to vote in person on Election Day, click here to find your polling place. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and anyone in line by 8 p.m. will still be able to vote.

DELIVERING FOR YOU IN HARRISBURG

Last week, my House colleagues and I passed important bills that will help our neighbors and strengthen our communities:

  • We protected workers by allowing them to collect unemployment compensation benefits if their unemployment is due to a work stoppage caused by a labor dispute (HB 145).
  • We’re supporting safe school infrastructure by creating a school facilities inventory within the Pennsylvania Department of Education (HB 1701).
  • We’re modernizing our state liquor laws and supporting businesses by allowing establishments with liquor licenses to serve premixed cocktails on tap, just like beer (HB 1702).
