INVESTMENT IN CAPT. THOMAS ESPY POST
I’m thrilled to share that the Carnegie was awarded a $10,000 grant from America250PA to help preservation efforts at the historic Capt. Thomas Espy Post.
As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday next year, I’m proud to see our community play a role in preserving and sharing our nation’s history.

TWO OF MY BILLS REPORTED OUT OF COMMITTEE
Sports officials are essential to any athletic game, from those of our most young to our college and professional levels. These officials keep our athletes safe while enforcing the rules of the game. Without them, there are no games.
There is a certain amount of expected voiced frustration with official's calls. However, there are too many circumstances where this goes beyond a mere comment from the stands.
Violence against sports officials is on a steep rise. Those choosing to be sports officials is decreasing. Many associations, like the PIAA and the WPIAL are struggling to retain and recruit officials.
My bill, HB 102, seeks to deter this violence and protect our officials.
I am grateful to the members of the Judiciary Committee for recently advancing this bill out of committee with bipartisan support.
Pets are beloved parts of families, but when marriages are breaking up, they can be used by one party against the other.
I handled domestic cases for many years and saw many situations where there were "battles" over pets. Our Courts will not take action, and in fact an opinion from our Appellate Court asked that the legislature take action. Understanding that this is a real issue for many, I have pursued this legislation for several sessions.
My bill, HB 97, was also advanced out of the Judiciary Committee.
This bill would give much needed guidance to our Family Court Judges when working on equitable distribution cases.
MOVING PENNSYLVANIA FORWARD
It’s not about buses and trains. It’s about people and jobs.
Mass transit in Pennsylvania is facing a critical funding crisis that will have negative impacts in every region across our state – including right here in Allegheny County. That’s why I voted to make sure everyone is able to get to where they need to go safely and efficiently.
Without this necessary funding, hundreds of thousands of cars will be put on the road – disrupting your commute – billions of dollars in economic impact will be lost, and hard-working Pennsylvanians will be out of a job.
Even if you don’t ride public transit, transit affects you – funding transit means more money in our communities, more people on the job, and safer commutes for everyone.
Join me and demand action from the PA Senate to fund mass transit across Pennsylvania!
GENERAL HUNTING LICENSES ON SALE NOW
As the chair of the House Game & Fisheries Committee, I’d like to remind hunters that hunting and furtaker licenses for Pennsylvania’s 2025-26 seasons are now on sale!
This year, all Pennsylvania residents are guaranteed to get an antlerless license for the Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) of their choice, so long as they buy it by 7 a.m. on Monday, July 14, the day license sales open to nonresidents.
That’s three full weeks for resident hunters to find a convenient time to buy and avoid waits.
