HOUSE PASSES MY BILL TO ADDRESS ABANDONED BOATS

Earlier this year, I joined a group of MBA students from Duquesne University and local Water Conservation Officers to discuss the issue of abandoned boats and possible solutions.

I’m pleased to announce that the House has passed my bill to strengthen enforcement and cleanup efforts for abandoned and derelict vessels on Pennsylvania’s waterways.  As chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee, I’ve highlighted the growing problem of these boats and how they pose safety risks, environmental hazards, and burdens on local governments. My legislation increases penalties and gives municipalities clearer authority to act. The bill now moves to the Senate.

WORKING PENNSYLVANIANS TAX CREDIT

The bipartisan Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit passed the House overwhelmingly and gives working people access to a tax credit equal to 30% of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

Nearly ONE MILLION working people could get from $200 to $2,300 back in their pockets!

If you qualify for the federal credit, you automatically qualify for the state credit! It’s real money back in your pocket.

As tariffs and supply chain disruptions send bills rising, this is just one way we’re fighting to cut costs for you.

But, now we need your help to get it done. Please call your State Senator and ask them to pass the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit – because you deserve it!

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE PROGRAM – MORE TIME TO APPLY!

The application deadline for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2025.

Thanks to a historic expansion of the program passed by the General Assembly, more Pennsylvanians than ever -- older adults, widows/widowers and people with disabilities -- are eligible for the rebates, with increased maximum payments of up to $1,000. In the last claim year, the program issued over 522,000 rebates totaling $319 million, including 106,000 first-time filers.

Filing is free, easy, and can be done online through myPATH. In-person help is also available at my district office and through PA Department of Revenue district offices and Area Agencies on Aging.
