Thank you to everyone who turned out for my document shredding event at the Burkett Park complex over the weekend. I also want to thank the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office for collecting unwanted and unused medications as part of its Project D.U.M.P.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has made it easier for older loved ones and neighbors to stay in their homes while affording groceries, medicine, and so much more. Also, don’t forget that thanks to changes made in 2023, income eligibility and rebate amounts have increased significantly!

PTRR rebates will begin to be issued via direct deposit or check beginning July 1. If you’ve already applied, you can check the status of your rebate with the “Where’s My Rebate?” online tool or call the Department of Revenue at 1-888-PATAXES (728-2937).

The Primary Election is coming up on May 20, 2025! I’m sharing a few key dates so that no voter misses out on the opportunity to have their voice heard.

• May 5 - Last day to register to vote in the municipal primary. vote.pa.gov/register.
• May 13 - Last day to apply for a mail ballot. vote.pa.gov/applymailballot.
• May 20 - Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. vote.pa.gov/polls.
• May 20 - Completed mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. vote.pa.gov/returnballot.
