Krueger announces $1 million in grants for Upland, Aston

BROOKHAVEN, July 16 — State Representative Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, today announced that $1 million in state grant funding has been awarded to two projects in the 161st Legislative District.

The funding comes from the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which supports projects for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement.

The grant awards include:

  • $500,000 for the construction of a new two-rink ice arena on Neumann University’s Aston Campus
  • $500,000 to modernize the mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems of the Reese Center, which serves as Upland Borough’s Emergency Management Headquarters.

“These grants are an investment in our local economy and emergency services,” said Krueger. “This support will help support youth programming at Neumann University and ensure that the Reese Center is a sustainable and efficient home for our emergency personnel.”

“I’m proud to see these funds awarded to two important community organizations and look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition.”
