Rep. Krueger applauds $399,460 investment in local transportation projects

HARRISBURG, Dec. 24 — Today, state Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced that Aston Township has been selected for $399,460 in funding through the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.

The township will use these funds for a new signalized intersection at Dutton Mill Road and Pancoast Avenue and installation of an emergency preemption system at the Aston Township Fire Department.

These investments will enhance safety, strengthen the local economy, and improve mobility across the region.

“The updates Aston will be able to make with these funds will make the intersection of Dutton Mill and Pancoast safer for vehicles and for pedestrians,” said Krueger. “Together with the preemption system for the fire department, we’ll be making significant moves toward a safer community.”

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grant funding to municipalities, councils of governments, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, and ports and rail freight entities to improve transportation assets and enhance communities. The projects support the safety and accessibility of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure.

“Any entity interested in this type of grant funding is always welcome to reach out to my office for support,” said Krueger.

Applications for the next round of MTF grants will open on Jan. 5 at 8 a.m. and will be due by Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.. Grant recipients are expected to be announced in summer 2026. More information about the program and funded projects is available at the PennDOT website.
