ASTON, April 17 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger is teaming up with state and local experts to give residents the opportunity to learn how to spot and prevent frauds and scams in a fun and educational setting.
Residents are invited to register for Krueger’s “Scam Jam,” which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 25 at the Aston Township Fire Department located at 2900 Dutton Mill Road in Aston.
Krueger said residents who sign up to attend the “Scam Jam” will hear from experts with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, Aston Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and AARP Pennsylvania.
“In our rapidly changing world, knowledge is power, and educational events like this empower our residents to recognize and stand strong against the ever-increasing and evolving threat of scams, particularly those targeting our senior community,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “With technology playing a bigger role in frauds and schemes, it’s more important than ever to understand how scammers operate and how to protect yourself. It’s why I work to bring experts together and host seminars like the ‘Scam Jam.’”
Krueger said attendees will gain firsthand knowledge from fraud prevention professionals on the latest scams, red flags to watch for, and practical steps to safeguard personal and financial information. She said attendees will leave with the tools needed to guard against common scams and stay one step ahead of scammers.
