NEWLY LISTED PROGRAMS Department of Community and Economic Development: Local Share Account Philadelphia Who May Apply: Community Development Corporations, economic development organizations and redevelopment authorities, business improvement districts/neighborhood improvement districts, non-profit organizations with a 501(c) designation, the City of Philadelphia, the School District of Philadelphia. Any eligible organization must be located in Philadelphia. Use: Economic development projects, neighborhood revitalization projects, community improvement projects, projects in the public interest. Funds: Grant amounts will vary based on the specific project requirements but are limited to a minimum request/award of $10,000 and a maximum request/award of $500,000. “Our communities are seeing sharp increases in energy costs while we’re seeing energy use rise across the Commonwealth. As we rely more and more on high energy-consumption technologies, we risk causing a crisis in which residents simply can’t afford the cost of their energy bills,” Giral said. “Pennsylvania has the expertise, workforce, and infrastructure to adapt to new nuclear options like SMRs, which are more efficient, more adaptable, and more cost-effective than their traditional nuclear counterparts." Use: To assist with the growth, certification of seed and marketing of eligible specialty crops. Giral to host tailgate at Xfinity Mobile Arena, celebrate Puerto Rican community

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 24 – State Rep. Jose Giral will host a tailgate for the Eagles vs. Giants game on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in the D Lot between D-3 and D-5. “I want this tailgate to serve as a celebration for another win for Philadelphia and for the Puerto Rican community,” Giral said. “With Bad Bunny being named the Super Bowl performer this year – this tailgate will bring our people together to celebrate Philadelphia, the Eagles, and our vibrant Puerto Rican community in the city. I want my local community to come out and celebrate our culture, and to be proud of our background; all while celebrating with the Puerto Rican community we’ve built over decades in the City of Philadelphia.” Giral is the co-chair of the Pennsylvania Legislative Latino Caucus. The Caucus celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month earlier this month in Harrisburg’s Capitol and passed H.R. 300 , recognizing Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Pennsylvania. Giral, Nelson Bill to Eliminate Child Care Cliff Advances
