Curry to hold Inspi-HER’d, a youth girls’ event

UPPER DARBY, April 13 – State Rep. Gina H. Curry will host, Inspi-HER’d, a fun field day for girls in fifth through eighth grades, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14. The event will take place at Hoffman Park, 34 Scottdale Road, Lansdowne. It will include outdoor workshops, field day activities and more. Lunch will be provided. “May is mental health awareness month,” Curry said. “It is important that we come together as a community to support the health and wellness for girls in a positive and affirming way. I am pleased to be able to host this outdoor event and I am looking forward to a day of fun for all.” Curry will be joined by youth community leaders. They will be available to provide information on state-related programs and youth services. Registration is required, RSVP here by April 29. Curry, Judge Cheryl McCabe-Stroman, who has worked with Truancy and Criminal Courts, Rev. Carolyn C. Cavaness, Pastor of Bethel AME Church of Ardmore, Kimberly Arnold, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Penn, and DaVeda J. Graham, mother of 5, who oversees Nurses United for Change and Equity, a nonprofit focusing on improving health disparities affecting underserved populations. Racial Trauma is a struggle many are facing throughout our society. In January 2022, Child Guidance Resource Centers’ Neighborhood Safety Solutions Initiative, hosted a panel discussion on this topic, and it was clear that more discussion is needed. So, we decided to create another platform to move this discussion further. I-95, I-76, I-476 Among State Highways Restricted Next Week for Construction Work in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia PA – Interstate 95, Interstate 76, and Interstate 476 are among several state highways restricted next week in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties for construction activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. Black & Diverse Business Forum Brings Out Dozens of Local Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

SPRINGFIELD, PA (March 1) – Senator Tim Kearney and state Rep. Gina H. Curry on Saturday hosted a Black & Diverse Business Forum at Delaware County Community College that brought out over two dozen local entrepreneurs and small business owners looking to grow their businesses. Held in the college’s STEM building, the presentation portion of the event kicked off just after 9:00 a.m., in the auditorium with a welcome from Anthony Twyman, Delaware County Community College Director of Government & Public Relations, followed by opening remarks from Senator Kearney and Rep. Curry. Both elected officials, who represent some of the same areas in Delaware County, wanted to create an event during Black History Month that had a meaningful impact on the community. “When people think about Black History Month, they often focus on recognizing the past accomplishments of notable African Americans,” said Senator Kearney. “I also believe you can celebrate Black history by supporting the great work black and diverse people are doing in local communities.
