Discussing my Work as a Physician-Legislator
Recently, I had several great opportunities to discuss my work with local students.
First, I joined students from Carnegie Mellon University to discuss the importance of being scientists and health professionals who lead both in the lab or clinic and the outside world.
Then, I met with the Pack 321 Webelos Den at the Avonworth Primary Center to talk about my work as a state legislator.
Finally, I joined Senator Devlin Robinson for his Senator for a Day program, where local students got to learn about the legislative process.
It is always great to meet with our next generation leaders, and I wish them the best in their journeys – whether that be scouting or in the healthcare field.

Standing up for Vaccine Access
This Monday marked World Immunization Day, recognizing the lifesaving impact they have. Over the past 50 years, immunizations have saved over 150 million lives.
As a physician-legislator, I have seen firsthand how vaccines save lives, and I am proud to have introduced HB 1828 and HB 1881 to protect access to and affordability of immunizations in Pennsylvania.

Attending the Unlocking AI for Public Good Conference, sponsored by Governor Shapiro’s Office and Carnegie Mellon University, was truly illuminating. There is tremendous opportunity—and a clear need for public engagement—as we harness this technology.

Honoring our Local Student Athletes

The Avonworth Girls Volleyball team won in their PIAA semifinals and will be competing for the PIAA State Championship tomorrow. Good luck, girls!

Supporting Education for our Next Generation of Military Leaders
Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) has announced two programs to provide scholarships for the next generation of military leaders. The Keystone Scholarship offers $26,000 to attend VFMC for a civilian education, while the Military College Assistance Program provides a nearly cost-free education at VFMC or a state university in exchange for service in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Both scholarships require recommendations from members of the state legislature. If you, or a student you know, are interested in these scholarships, please contact my office.

Finalists will be posted on the Farm Show Facebook page for fan votes from November 26 – December 2. The winners will be announced on Facebook, then notified by email on when they will sing.
