Home heating assistance is open – and we can help you apply!
If you need help heating your home this winter, please be aware that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is now open. The program can provide income-eligible households with cash and crisis grants, which do not need to be repaid.
Cash grants between $200 and $1,000 are available based on your household size, income, and fuel type. This one-time payment is sent directly to your utility provider or fuel company to be credited on your bill. If your main heating source is broken, in danger of being shut off, or is currently shut off, you may also qualify for a crisis grant.
You can learn more about LIHEAP here and apply online here.
Please remember that our office can help. Contact us to learn more about the program, find out whether you qualify, and get help applying. Please remember to bring proof of income and your latest heating bill.
