Rep. Abigail Salisbury October 28, 2025 | 11:15 AM
Check out what's planned for our Oct. 30 Nonprofit Symposium!
With our Oct. 30 Nonprofit Symposium just days away, I want to provide a rundown of our program and let you know about some ways we’ve improved on last year’s event! The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 9 PA, 100 Kingston Drive in Wilkins Township.
Registration is required and can be completed here.
SESSIONS
This year’s program will feature the following expert-led sessions:
Advocacy 101: What 501(c)(3)s CAN Do!
Phil Koch and Anne Gingrich will present strategies to further your organization’s goals without running afoul of lobbying restrictions for nonprofits. The session will feature:
Overview of the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations
PA Department of State staffers Ashleigh Hamman and Phyllis Williams will explain how to incorporate a nonprofit with the Department of State, comply with annual reporting requirements, amend an entity, and understand when and how to register as a charity.
Financial Management FAQs
Jon Hoffman (left) and Stewart Urist of Elevate NP will share practical tools and advice on budgeting, understanding restricted and unrestricted funds, managing cash flow, and meeting current compliance requirements, followed by a Q&A session.
Small Dollars, Big Impact: Launching a Recurring Donor Program on a Shoestring – Just in Time for Giving Tuesday
Growth Factor LLC principal Joy Braunstein will teach nonprofit professionals how to quickly set up a donor program on a shoestring budget, ethically invite supporters into membership-style giving, and build that infrastructure so donors become part of your movement in time for Giving Tuesday.

PARKING & MORE
Based on feedback from last year’s event, we’re happy to report that we have expanded both the parking and the women’s restroom facilities. This year, we will have three parking areas:
Attendees should park at the Bricklayers and Croatian Union lots first. If those lots are full, they will be directed to the overflow lot, where a shuttle will be available to take them to and from the symposium.
Lunch will be provided. Attendees needing a special meal should please contact us in advance at (412) 273-3400. Gluten-free and Kosher meals are available on request.
STILL TIME TO REGISTER!
Finally, please note that as of this writing, there are still spots available for the symposium. Registration is required and can be completed at this page. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Come join us to learn, strategize, and strengthen your organization! Have questions or need help registering? Call us at (412) 273-3400!
Please be aware that our district office will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 30, as our staff conducts the Nonprofit Symposium. We will reopen for regular business hours on Friday, Oct. 31.
