Warrington police and fire get $250K tech boost from state grant secured by former first responder Munroe

WARRINGTON, July 16 – On Tuesday evening, state Rep. Brian Munroe, D-Bucks, presented Warrington Township with a $250,000 check earmarked for vital technology upgrades for the police and fire departments. The check was presented at the Board of Supervisors meeting.

The funding was secured through state grants and is one of many awards Munroe has procured for his district. As a former police officer and firefighter himself, Munroe said he was thrilled to help out emergency services through this grant. The money will be used to purchase portable radios, body cameras, and in-car camera systems.

“Modern technology helps strengthen public safety and supports the important work our first responders do every day,” Munroe said. “I'm proud to bring these resources back to Warrington to ensure our police and fire departments have the equipment they need to serve our community.”

Munroe is also chair of the state House of Representatives’ bipartisan Law Enforcement Caucus, and has championed resolutions and bills related to funding and honoring law enforcement.
