Munroe announces $246,759 grant to Ivyland for accessibility improvements and park upgrades

BUCKS COUNTY, April 10 -- On Wednesday evening, state Rep. Brian Munroe, D-Bucks, presented a check for $246,759 to Ivyland Borough for important accessibility projects and major improvements to Edwin Oldroyd Memorial Park.

The grant was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority and funded through the Local Share Account program, which is supported by the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. Projects funded by the grant include a safe crosswalk across Jacksonville Road at Willard Avenue, as well as enhancements to Edwin Oldroyd Memorial Park, including an ADA-compliant ramp, a new sidewalk connecting the park to Ivyland Commons Park, and the installation of trash receptacles, benches, and landscaping plantings.

“I was more than happy to assist the borough council in advocating for this grant,” said Munroe. “Their tireless dedication to this tightly knit community is truly commendable, and Ivyland residents of all ages will surely enjoy the improvements to the park.”

Ivyland Borough Council President Sal DiPaolo said, “Ivyland Borough is delighted to receive grant funding to keep our small community growing and improving,” and added that council “are thankful that we have a true partner in Representative Brian Munroe, whose advocacy and support is always important in making our needs heard on the state and federal levels.”
