PECO rescinds proposal to increase rates!

Dear Neighbors,

It has been a busy week! In Harrisburg, I welcomed the Archbishop Wood Girls Soccer Team to the Capitol to celebrate their championship win, and in the district, I attended a business grand opening and hosted our Spring Shredding Event (even through some cold April showers).

In perhaps the biggest news to come out this past week, PECO rescinded their proposal to increase rates! I was proud to stand alongside the other four Bucks County Democratic State Representatives when we organized a public response mere hours after the proposal was submitted.

I am even more proud of the nearly 1,000 Bucks County residents who signed our petition and made their voices heard. As legislators, it is our responsibility to stand up against corporate greed and fight for affordability.

As always, if you need anything, feel free to call my office at 215-323-6997 or reply to this email!

Sincerely,

PA Representative Brian Munroe's signature image

BREAKING: Major Win for Pennsylvania Consumers

Last week, Governor Josh Shapiro announced that PECO, Pennsylvania’s largest utility company, will withdraw its proposed rate increase before the Public Utility Commission.

This means NO new hikes on electricity and natural gas bills for 1.7 million residents across southeastern Pennsylvania.

Thank you to Governor Shapiro for standing up for everyday Pennsylvanians and thank you to everyone who signed the petition that the Bucks County Democratic House Delegation put together!

This is an enormous win for affordability and accountability in Pennsylvania, and it shows that making your voice heard can absolutely have a difference.

Disabled Veterans Real Estate Tax Exemption Program Expansion

I am thrilled to announce that the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed House Bill 1257, legislation that would expand the disabled veterans' real estate tax exemption program!

Disabled veterans are some of the most patriotic and selfless people in our commonwealth, and it is imperative that we show them gratitude by expanding programs that support them. As a veteran myself, I was proud to be a co-sponsor on this bill.

Currently, HB1257 sits in State Senate's State Government Committee. I strongly encourage you to call your state senator today and tell them you would like to see this legislation go out of committee, through the Senate, and on to the Governor's!

A Successful Shredding Event!

On Sunday, my office another successful Shredding Event at Warminster Community Park! Even though the weather was cold and rainy, it was a pleasure to speak to constituents who came out.

If you missed this one, have no fear!  We are planning our next shredding event for this fall. Details will be provided soon.

Anytime Fitness Grand Opening

I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Anytime Fitness in Warrington and awarding the owner a certificate of recognition from my office. Businesses like Anytime Fitness are so important for our local economy and workforce, and I will continue to work from the state level to adequately support and recognize them.

Welcome to the neighborhood and happy lifting!

Congratulations, Archbishop Wood Girls Soccer!

Last week, I was proud to host the Archbishop Wood Catholic High School Girls Soccer Team, who recently won the PIAA 2A State Championship, at the Capitol in Harrisburg!

This group of exceptional young women is a prime example of how hard work, grit, and determination pays off. Congratulations for your victory, and thank you for your hard work, heart, and Viking spirit.

Congratulations, again, and we wish you the best next year!
